Frequently Asked Questions

The most efficient kitchen layouts are U-shaped and island kitchens. These layouts provide ample countertop space for cooking and prep work, and they allow for fluid movement throughout the room and entertaining.

We would say the Shaker kitchen style has never gone out of style. Shaker kitchens date back to 1774, when the Shakers who arrived in America from England, created the style out of necessity for usefulness and practicality.

We provide kitchen remodeling in Vancouver, North Vancouver, West Vancouver, Burnaby, Coquitlam, Richmond, Delta, Surrey, Langley, Maple Ridge and surrounding areas.

The most popular kitchen design styles are Traditional, Contemporary and Transitional. The first two are holding the top spots and today kitchen design styles trend towards a combination of classic and modern styles, known as transitional.

The most spacious and space saving kitchen layout is the U-shaped layout. Galley, L- and U-shapes are ergonomically sound, helping to create the work triangle of hob, sink and fridge allowing for adequate work space in between.

A little legwork is needed to find the best kitchen remodeling contractor for your kitchen remodel in Vancouver. Here's what we suggest doing before making a hire.

Get estimates from three different contractors so you can compare costs, timeliness, and reputation. Although it’s tempting to go with the lowest price, you should think twice before committing to a bid that’s significantly lower or higher than the rest.

Check their reviews and ratings from reputable sources such as: Google, TrustedPros, Houzz, BBB.

Find out whether a kitchen contractor holds all the required licenses as well as designations from any professional associations like the National Kitchen & Bath Association (NKBA) or others.

Interview candidates. How a contractor answers questions is extremely important, but communication goes both ways.

To start off we suggest simply choosing white color as it opens up the space visually. You can also add some touches with other colors such as teal. Open storage gives a more airy and spacious look in your kitchen so consider adding those. Stick to clean lines. For instance, removing cupboard handles can do the trick. Integrated appliances blend in well with the rest of your kitchen, usually with appliance panels. This gives a sleek look to the kitchen and appear bigger. Lighting is vital for creating a seemingly larger kitchen. The more light, the bigger the space will feel. That leads us to knocking down the external walls which is quite common and not just for small kitchens. There are a lot more tricks to make your small kitchen look bigger.

On high end kitchen cabinets we use wood veneers, thermal-fused thermofoil on good quality MDF or plywood, or solid wood.

Quartz countertops are the easiest natural stone to take care of. They are engineered using ground stone and resin, so they don’t require regular sealing as oppose to most granite and marble countertops. This stone is non-porous, so it doesn’t easily stain or etch.

Absolutely. We can’t start the work until your strata has given us their approval. We will have to provide them with a clearance letter from WCB, our liability insurance, plumbing ticket etc.

We will provide you with the samples of cabinet materials and finishes, flooring, tile, countertop, doors and knobs. We will not be able to bring such materials as: sinks, faucets, lighting fixtures, but we will specify them in the material specification list and link to some local stores (ex. The Ensuite, Splashes) where you would be able to check them out.

Absolutely! Our company is registered with the WCB and follows established industry standards. We also have a $5 million general liability insurance cover to protect the interests of everyone involved in the renovation project, including the clients.

At Adept Projects we offer a lifetime warranty on our labour and cabinetry. All materials are covered by the manufacturers warranty.

A full house renovation typically takes around 6 month. A kitchen renovation takes from 3-4 month with all the planning and design. A bathroom reno would be between 1-2 month, but some bigger projects can take longer than that.
